Cambodian Delegation visits INST

On 24 June 2019, the Cambodian delegation led by Mr. EANG Sophalleth - Secretary of State for Ministry of Environment paid a technical visit to the Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology (INST) on its exchange visit to the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM). The purpose of this meeting was to share INST’s R&D activities and discuss future cooperation possibilities between two sides in nuclear science and technology.

       The meeting was attended by 11 Cambodian representatives of Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Mines and Energy, National Council for Sustainable Development, Cambodia Royal Academy, National Council for Science and Technology, and Royal University of Phnom Penh; VINATOM Vice Presidents Nguyen Hao Quang, Tran Ngoc Toan; INST Deputy Director Nguyen Huu Quyet and heads of the INST’s divisions.

       At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Huu Quyet welcomed all delegates and made a brief introduction of the INST with ongoing R&D activities. The delegates then visited the laboratories relating to three fields of research in isotope hydrology, radiation protection (focusing on equipment systems for radiation protection activities like calibration, verification) and environmental radioactivity monitoring and impact assessment (including Operation Center for Environmental Radiation Monitoring and Early Warning Network, NUTECH facilities).

     At the end of the visit, all delegates highly appreciated the INST’s nuclear science and technology research and development capabilities. They also offered congratulations to the INST’s achievements, sought the cooperation and support regarding the INST’s key R&D areas.

INST
